Wow, blogging community... it's been awhile.. and for that, i apologize. However, I am back in the game! I've decided to blog while listening in my Management class! Great idea, right? WRONG, only because Jacob Robinson and Meagan Hubbard are laughing at my typing skills. Moving on...
Last Wednesday, my softball team, the Bunts'N'Burners, took on our first competitor in the playoffs! Better yet, we were VICTORIOUS! I've never played softball in my life so I was a little bit worried about playing for the first time, but it turns out that slow-pitch softball isn't the hardest thing in the world! Praise Him! Lance Casey started the team and Travis Nicks came up with the team name. From there, everything really took off... except we found out that it was against the rules to actually bunt in intramural softball... whoopsies!
This softball team has been such a good thing for all of our friends. It's allowed us to have one time a week to get together, compete and laugh at each other. I've found that team sports always bring a whole new aspect of friendship to the table... a new "bond", if you will. I feel blessed to have had incredible girls and guys surround me through my years in college and these people on the Bunts'n'Burners are just a few of them. Here's a team pic after our victory last week!
In order from top left to right, then bottom left to right...
- Lance Casey- founder of Bunts 'N'Burners, avid golfer who tends to hit the softball like he would a golf ball.. swinging upward. haha it's very amusing!
- Cameron Cook- MVP of this particular game, oober athletic, "The Great Cambino"
- Travis Nicks- 6'4, triathlete, the other team is a "travesty" compared to him. duh.
- Preston Sauer- 6'9, 320 lbs., enjoys sitting on peoples laps when in the dug-out
- Mike Walker- our secret weapon, Texas A&M football player, the only sophomore on the team, also 505 Ayrshire girls' neighbor
- Alexis Collett- extreme athlete, the team mom/encourager, keeps the team in high spirits
- Allison Harrell- good at every sport, including softball. Some like to call her "Speedy Gonzales"
- Brittany Anders- our best hitter, hits it where they're not, every time... without fail
- Lindsay Thornton- me
- Sarah Massey- new player who exceeded expectations, very strong runner
Though the Rangers lost on this particular night, the Bunts'N'Burners were victorious! W11OOP!
